OUR CLUB. OUR HISTORY.
OUR CLUB. OUR HISTORY.
Founded in 1939, Xewkija Tigers Football Club has proudly represented the village of Xewkija for generations, becoming one of the most established and successful football clubs in Gozo.
The club's early years were shaped by the challenges of the Second World War. Although the Tigers initially played friendly matches, they made their competitive debut during the 1944–45 season. Just one year later, the club celebrated its first major success, winning the Galea Cup in 1946 with a 1–0 victory over Xagħra Blue.
A historic milestone arrived in the 1974–75 season when Xewkija Tigers claimed their first First Division championship. Further glory followed in the early 1980s, with consecutive league titles in 1982–83 and 1983–84, establishing the Tigers as a formidable force in Gozitan football.
Throughout the decades, the club has continued to build an impressive record of league championships and cup victories, including memorable successes in the 2000–01, 2011–12, 2013–14, 2014–15 and 2016–17 seasons.
Today, Xewkija Tigers FC remains a symbol of pride, passion and determination. Our black-and-yellow colours represent not only our achievements on the pitch, but also the generations of players, officials, volunteers and loyal supporters who have helped shape our history.
One Village. One Club. One Passion.
